Extracurricular activities enrich children’s experience and allow them to develop their talents and interests.
We offer a comprehensive enrichment programme to ensure all pupils in Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 have the opportunity to continue studying a subject that they are particularly interested in and develop skills that are useful to them. The programme compliments GCSE and BTEC programmes at KS4 and allows for a broad and balanced curriculum at KS3.
At 澳门电子游戏正规网站 we believe that the enrichment programme is an important part of our curriculum offer, which is why we timetable extracurricular activities for Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils into the school day as a 40-minute ‘Enrichment Programme’. They take place immediately after lunch Mondays to Thursdays thus, ensuring that all pupils and teachers are involved. In Years 7, 8 and 9 pupils choose three different enrichments per week. In Years 10 and 11 pupils choose one enrichment per week.
Most of the activities are mixed-age i.e. available to pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9. Having mixed-age activities fosters communication and friendship between the year groups, which in turn helps to promote healthy relationships between pupils and contributes to fostering a love of life-long learning.
One of the most popular extracurricular activities at 澳门电子游戏正规网站 is the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Participants receive expedition training from JLGB, supported by Yavneh teachers, and pursue their own volunteering, physical and skills interests. 的有目的的, wide-ranging and independent nature of the D of E programme, and the leadership and teamwork skills which it gives participants, makes it highly regarded by universities and employers. 在任何时候, over 150 of our pupils and students from Years 9 to 13, are busy working on a Bronze and Silver level D of E, enjoying new experiences; making new friends; building their self-confidence; and honing or discovering new talents.
